About the Associate Program Officer position:
The Israel Associate Program Officer is a newly created position that supports the Foundation’s Israel office and reports directly to its Co-Directors. The role involves managing grant-making activities, overseeing program execution, and fostering partnerships with grantees and stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have strategic, relational, and operational skills, and experience in business, public, or nonprofit sectors. The position requires a detail-oriented, flexible team player committed to the Foundation’s mission, working closely with both Israel and U.S. teams.
Grantmaking
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with grantees, related organizations, other foundations, and RBF’s Board when needed.
• Review, assess and provide written summaries of grantee progress reports.
• Attend and participate in Israel team meetings with grantees.
• Conduct due diligence on grant requests and prepare analyses and summaries for Trustee meetings.
• Complete follow-up work from meetings in coordination with the Co-Directors.
• Assist in event planning and retreat logistics.
• Manage the Fluxx system as the central hub for all grant activities, ensuring accurate and updated information on grantees, requests, approvals, and reports.
Research, Evaluation and Strategy
• Conduct research and review documents in areas of interest to support grantee capacity building and explore potential new focus areas for RBF grantmaking.
• Assist Co-Directors in managing grant evaluations, including creating evaluation questions, selecting evaluators, drafting scopes, reviewing documentation, and maintaining external relationships.
Qualifications:
• BA / BSc. MA preferred.
• Previous relevant professional work experience.
Skills and Knowledge:
• Thoughtful, curious, and enthusiastic, with a broad perspective and the ability to engage across various areas, demonstrating a high level of initiative and problem solving abilities.
• A team player with strong interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor.
• Resourceful, results oriented, with strong ability to analyze financial and performance data.
• Highly self-motivated, persistent, pro-active, dependable and self-sufficient.
• Fluency in written and spoken Hebrew and English.
Location: Tel Aviv, Israel (Hybrid: 3 days/week on-site).
