Background
Stepping Stones Nature Initiative (SSNI) addresses the unmet need for Jewish English-speaking teen-at-risk programs in Israel, offering a nature-based solution. SSNI aims to provide a safe, structured environment where participants ages 13-19 can experience emotional growth and self-awareness, guided by professional staff and therapeutic modalities such as Nature, DBT, music, and somatic practices. With a 6-week program structure, year-long availability, and rolling admissions, SSNI seeks to empower participants to overcome challenges, foster resilience, and embark on a path of fulfillment and goal orientation, supported by a holistic approach and a commitment to safety and sustainability.
Timeline
Stepping Stones Nature Initiative (SSNI) is currently seeking a part-time team member to join our organization immediately, with an anticipated transition to full-time employment starting September 2024, contingent upon funding and successful performance. This position offers approximately 10-15 hours per week initially, with the potential for expansion.
In the coming months, the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in collaborating with SSNI consultants on key initiatives.

Job Description for Clinical Director
Reports to Program Director; ensures that mental health treatment services are provided in a way that maximizes client independence and family empowerment; provides individual and group counseling services to assist individuals in achieving more effective personal, social, and educational development and adjustment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
● Interview Primary Therapist candidates
● Supervise Primary Therapists
● Provide evaluations for Primary Therapists
● Oversee clinical documentation requirements
● Contribute to the thorough evaluation of student applications, assessing their suitability for admission to SSNI.
● Facilitate comprehensive exit assessments and provide recommendations for appropriate post-program placements for students following their tenure at SSNI.
● Ensure program schedules meet needs of therapists and vice versa
● Participate in program design and development
● Regular communication with Program Director
● Ensure application of clinical program with field department
● Respond to clinical emergency situations as needed
● Fully fluent in English and Hebrew.
Educational/Licensing Requirements
Education or Equivalent
Master's degree from accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
Certificates/Licenses
● Licensed Mental Health Professional.
● Valid driver's license
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience
Minimum of three years of experience with inpatient, outpatient, and/or mental health care; must have direct clinical and case management experience, group leadership experience, and knowledge regarding rehabilitation philosophy; strong clinical land interpersonal skills, ability to lead and direct work of others, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Decision-Making Responsibilities
Includes best judgment regarding the immediate physical health, safety, and welfare of participants; coordinates outside care as needed; plans own time in carrying out assigned duties; conducts appropriate student assessments and follow-up
recommendations; responsible for deciding treatment plans for clients, reacting decisively in emergency situations and crisis intervention.
Level of Supervision
Given
Supervises the work of field staff; may provide input for consideration in professional development and training; participates in evaluations of field instructor performance related to the clinical component of the program to assist in determining salary increases and promotions.
Received
Works under minimal supervision and relies on experience, knowledge, and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals; consults with higher levels of management on the more difficult and complex phases of work.
